Root Canals & Endodontics
Cure Dental is a dental practice that offers a range of dental services, including root canals and endodontic treatment. If you have a tooth causing you pain or discomfort, you should consult a dental professional to determine the best course of treatment.
A root canal is a dental procedure that involves removing infected or damaged tissue (called the “pulp”) from the inside of a tooth. The pulp is a soft tissue that contains nerves and blood vessels that help to nourish the tooth. When the pulp becomes infected or damaged, it can cause pain and lead to an abscess (a pocket of pus) if left untreated. To remove this infected part or complete pulp root canal procedure is performed.
The procedure for a root canal involves numbing the tooth and surrounding area with a local anesthetic. The endodontist or dentist will then create a small hole in the top of the tooth to access the pulp. The infected or damaged tissue is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. In most cases, a crown (a cap) is placed over the tooth to protect it and restore its function.
